First Washington has been involved in the development and  financing of toll roads and has brought access to many undeveloped regions of the world. In 1993, First Washington AG Development Corporation became the first western company to receive a business license to build, own, and operate a toll road in China. Since then, First Washington has been involved in the development of many roads including the difficult desert highway of Xinjiang, Urumqi World Bank funded project.
